The Most Underrated Exercise for Foot Health

When people think about exercise, they often focus on larger muscle groups such as the legs, back, or core. But the feet contain dozens of small muscles that play an important role in stability, balance, and shock absorption.

Over time, these muscles can become weaker if they are rarely challenged. One simple exercise I often recommend is toe spreading and control. By learning to actively spread and engage the toes, patients can begin strengthening muscles that support the arch and stabilize the foot during walking and activity.

These exercises may seem simple, but consistent daily practice can improve circulation, enhance stability, and reduce stress on larger structures such as the plantar fascia. Like many aspects of health, small daily habits often create the biggest long-term improvements.
